How does Cymbalta Work?
Cymbalta is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and a selective serotonin. Norepinephrine acts as both a neurotransmitter and a hormone. It works on the area of the brain that responds to stress, mood, emotions, pain, blood pressure, and cognition, to relieve stress and pain, thereby easiong many other conditions and symptoms. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter which occurs naturally and which affects pain perception, mood regulation, and other physical functions. All of these properties work together to block the “messages” the body is sending to the brain receptors, alleviating pain before it can get a foothold.
Cymbalta has also been shown to have analgesic properties and helps control pain related to bone issues, fibromyalgia, and diabetic neuropathy.
